Oral Conscious Dental Sedation

As you can gather from the name, oral conscious sedation does not put you to sleep. However, you’ll be in a light, drowsy state of relaxation for the entire procedure, and by the end of your visit, you’ll typically find that you have little if any memory of what happened. You’ll take the sedative orally at a set time before you arrive for your appointment; make sure you have someone else to drive you to and from our dental office.

Nitrous Oxide Dental Sedation

There’s a reason why nitrous oxide is one of the most common options for sedation among patients with mild to moderate dental phobias. It takes effect very quickly and can be adjusted in various concentrations as needed. Most importantly, however, the effects wear off in just a few minutes after we stop administering the sedative. While it can take the rest of the day to fully recover from other forms of sedation, nitrous oxide allows you to return to your normal routine right away.
